Welcome to the Oikos Institute – Research Center Bijeljina
Our headquarters are in Bijeljina , but our activities go beyond borders – we are present on the international scientific scene and connected with hundreds of institutions worldwide .
The Institute was founded in 2014 by Prof. Dr. Zoran Mastilo , a university professor and visionary , with the idea of creating a space open to free scientific expression and international cooperation .
Today, Oikos Institute is an internationally recognized scientific institution.
Our work is particularly focused on:
- scientific research activities,
- publishing,
- organization of scientific conferences,
- participation in domestic and international projects.
We are proud of our international journal ECONOMICS – Innovative and Economics Research Journal , indexed in the Scopus database and ranked in the Q1 category . The journal brings together authors from all continents and promotes innovative research in economics and social sciences. So far, we have published over 300 papers , with strict peer review and high ethical standards .
In addition, we publish the proceedings “New Economy” and organize international conferences . The last one was held in Sofia , while for the next conference we have offers from Romania (Târgu Mureș), Turkey (Istanbul), and Dubai – in 2026 we will choose the best location!
Our Institute participates in European programs such as COST , Erasmus+ , and Horizon Europe , as well as in numerous domestic projects – from cooperation with universities and local communities to the development of strategic plans and expert studies in economics and finance .
Our mission is clear: to create a free and responsible space for scientific creativity , open to all who believe in knowledge .
